3 Poker Etiquette You Should Maintain

Poker is viewed as a form of pure entertainment. There are many players who only care about how much money they can win. While there are some who are interested in having fun. They obviously want to win but don’t mind losing as well as they are having an enjoyable experience. This is the reason why it is important to act properly when you play poker online in India. Every player has a responsibility to make sure others have a positive experience.  By knowing the rules of how to play is not just enough as you need to know the rules on how to behave as well. There is a great deal of etiquette involved in poker. Here are the 3 rules of how to behave at the poker table.

Be Courteous and Polite

If you are playing live poker for a long time you will probably encounter many players who don’t follow this rule. It is an easy one to stick to yourself and obviously you make any excuse for not being polite and courteous to other players or the dealers. You don’t have to overdo it and can stay quiet if you want to but using good manners isn’t difficult to do. It will create a welcoming atmosphere at the table.

Make Your Actions Clear

If you make your actions clear, it will not only make your life easier but your fellow players as well.  Shoving few chips into the pot and mumbling ‘raise’ or ‘call’ will not give you an advantage and will probably annoy the opponents. It is not difficult to slide a neat stack of chips in front of you and declare your actions with clarity. It will avoid confusion and will make sure that you don’t get accused of trying to gain an unfair advantage by misrepresenting the action you are taking.

Be Gracious in Defeat

You should always be gracious in victory and defeat as well while at the poker table. There is nothing wrong showing a bit of frustration following a particularly crushing defeat, but you will also not get respect by going on a massive rant every time you lose a hand. Just a small celebration after a winning a big pot is acceptable. If you celebrate too wildly it is going to agitate your opponents and gloating about how brilliantly you played can be annoying as well. If you want to respect others, you should act with some degree of humility while you play poker online.
